A jumble of things

Recently I had a lovely trip to visit some family in southern Oregon. Sadly, California was ablaze and Oregon was smoky. Ashland is a great town, and home to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. We saw A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which was good, The Comedy of Errors, which production I didn’t care for, and Coriolanus, which was very excellent.
While I was there, I naturally visited Websters. I went there twice, actually: originally, because of a sudden and desperate need to supplement my yarn for my current knitting.
I returned just for fun to show my aunt some fibery stuff.
Aside from a bit of spinning, I’ve been doing all sorts of non-spinning. This includes overdying thrift store yarn, dying wool top to spin, dying laceweight silk for KnitOne.
Also, lots of needlefelting, beading, crocheting, etc. I have been fortunate enough to receive a donation from Flo: the mother lode of crochet thread, including mercerised cotton, silk, embroidery floss, tubular nylon gossamer thread, and metallic glitzy stuff. I haven’t even finished sifting through it all, but it’s already far exceeded fabulous.
My current obsession is trying to recreate the luscious colours of our local CSA produce. Look at these plums, and the rainbow carrots!
